My Stance on Generative AI & the Artistic Insecurities it Can Create
I've made a similar video for my art channel @ShorterThantheEasel but I also wanted to talk about it here and a bit more in depth. As a creator and as someone who's spent a majority of their life studying and practicing art, I want to share my thoughts on generative AI. I'm not saying I have a burning hatred for the technology. I just personally don't use generative AI in my workflow or any of the filters anymore after learning some things about it that didn't sit right with me. And that's fine. My main issue with generative AI is more with how it's been used and abused(especially with the recent rise in AI generated time lapse videos).
I am not looking for a debate. I am not saying not to use generators. The choice to use generative AI is up to you. But I do feel like there is more of a rise of artists that have their own style and can make amazing work using these generators to "finish" their work. And I do personally feel like it can become a crutch and stunt creative and artistic growth.
