My Thoughts on AI and How It's Being Sold to Us
7The Miyazaki ChatGPT images that popped up a bit ago got me thinking, and while I have a nuanced take on AI in general, I have some thoughts on GenAI and this type of usage.
I do think there's usage for GenAI such as in simulation games (e.g. The Sims, Paralives, etc.) games that have no scripted story and simulate emergent gameplay. But nowadays it's purpose to to avoid paying an artist, by feeding their art into an AI model and then spitting out replicas that violate copyright laws.
