My Thoughts on Episodes 1-3 of the Witcher Series on Netflix
Visual Description: A woman wearing a dusty red-coloured prairie revival-style dress faces the camera. She has brown hair worn in a high bun, and wears blue-rimmed eyeglasses that help her to see. She uses her hand movements, facial expressions, and vocal intonation to help express herself while she talks. There's a curtain in the background.
Description: I've been watching the Netflix Witcher show with my significant other. I share my thoughts on episodes 1-3 of "The Witcher" in this video. I love the show's atmosphere, it feels very "dark faerietale" or "Grimm". I love the disability representation in Yennifer's backstory. I like Ciri as a sort of "blank slate" character through which to learn about the world of the show. Geralt's interesting because in the games the player gets to choose his actions and thus determine his personality, whereas in the show we don't get to do that. I was disappointed with Triss, as in the games she is a very "steals the show" sort of character, but in the show it feels as if she is merely a vector through which events happen. I don't like the coloured contacts on Yen and her significant other, but do on Geralt, as I feel they look a little bit oversaturated or too vivid for the world, and thus inhuman. Also, I like how the show uses the rivalry between the elves and humans to show how hurtful that racism is in a way that's removed from modern politics.
