My Top 10 Favorite Roguelikes for Tabletop Gamers
In today’s video I share my favorite roguelike digital games that I think people who primarily play tabletop games (like me) might enjoy.
Roguelikes feature the following:
• mastery over multiple runs
• multiple encounters of increasing difficulty
• procedural generation (typically)
• losing is fun (and fast); setup is fast
• rewards and deckbuilding happen after each encounter, not during
• permadeath
• roguelike has no progression between runs; roguelite does have character progression
Joao’s recommendations: Hades, Dead Cells, Slay the Spire, Into the Breach, Against the Storm, Rogue Legacy 2
Tabletop games in this genre (or close to it): Mini Rogue, Dorfromantik, One Deck Dungeon, TIME Stories, Chronicles of Stampadia, Paperback Adventures, Dead Cells, Ra, Set a Watch, Slay the Spire, Challengers
Honorable mentions (or haven’t played): Luck Be a Landlord, Astrea Six Sided Oracle, Dicefolk, Cobalt Core, Faster Than Light, Monster Train, Against the Storm, Marvel Snap, Into the Breach, Griftlands
