My top fighting games for the console
Mortal Kombat is a 1992 fighting game developed and published by Midway. It is the first entry in the Mortal Kombat series and was subsequently released by Acclaim Entertainment for nearly every home platform at that time. The game focuses on several characters of various intentions who enter a martial arts tournament with worldly consequences. It introduced many key aspects of the Mortal Kombat series, including the unique five-button control scheme and gory finishing moves called Fatalities.
Street Fighter III also known by its subtitle New Generation, is a fighting video game in the Street Fighter series originally released on arcades by Capcom in 1997. The game was developed for the CP System III arcade system, which allowed for more advanced 2D graphics than the CP System II for which Street Fighter Alpha and its sequels were developed, with a general gameplay update. The game, conceived as a sequel to Street Fighter II, initially lacked the characters from the previous installments, with the exception of Ryu and Ken (with a hint of the subtitle New Generation), who were replaced by a new cast. Accordingly, a new antagonist, Jill, took Bison's place as boss.
Power Rangers is an American television series in the tokusatsu genre, an adaptation of the Japanese television series "Supersentai". Each season tells the story of a group of people who become superheroes, the Power Rangers, who fight evil forces.
The series was created by Saban in 1993 and ran continuously until 2009. It has been produced by Disney since 2003, and in 2010 Saban regained the rights to the franchise and resumed showings in 2011. In 2018, the Power Rangers franchise was acquired by Hasbro.
Three full-length films, various souvenir products, toys and video games have been created based on the series.
