Mystic Towers is an exercise in genre-bending and splitting, combing aspects of action platformers, puzzle , adventure, roleplaying, and survival-horror games. It's VGA graphics are well-done and hold up today, despite showing some age, as does the music and sound. It's overall presentation is quite impressive and thorough.

The primary issue with the game is wonky controls. The isometric perspective creates confusion with movement. While the controls can be mastered with time, they never quite feel entirely fluid.
