RANKING: A+

The story follows Goemon's struggles to prevent the Peach Mountain Shoguns gang from turning Japan into a Westernized fine arts theater. This is a very Japanese, humorous, 3D platformer. That combination makes it unique and stand out, which is probably why it did good enough for them to localize the sequel too. This was a time where anything too foreign, was censored; remember when the Pokemon Anime replaced Riceballs for donuts?

Being a 3D platformer, it's hard to top Super Mario 64, which here the gameplay mechnics feel lacking and jumping not as responsive. Luckily there aren't too many hard platforming sections.

I'd recommend it, not as refined as Super Mario 64, but that game is a masterpiece, but here is a unique, charming, funny game. There are other games in the series, SNES games and a sequel on N64, I never played them, but looking at them, I would take guess and say this would be my favorite in the series. Well see if my opinion is the same when I eventually play them.
