Resident Evil 2 - Cartridge Authentication & Manual
RANKING: A+
One of my favorite game series and one of my favorite games in the series (the other being #4) and favorite version of this game. Normally I prefer the original version of a game, but if it's made on a more durable cartidge, as oppose to flimsy CD, I go for the cartridge. Also you don't have to worry about losing 1 of the 2 disc and not being able to play the full game.
The story is you arrive in Raccoon City as Leon or Claire and find yourself trapped in a city of zombies and must find your way out. Leon was here on his 1st day as a cop (whoops, looks like that's canceled) and Claire is here to find her brother Chris (from the 1st game).
This game is one of the biggest memory cartridges on the N64 at 64MB (or 512 Mega bits [ Funny, Neo geos largest game was "King Of Fighters '03" at 716 Megabits/ 89.5MB]) of course the original game was on CD (that could hold 700MB) and this cartridge would need to be the biggest it could get to fit all the FMVs and audio. Compression is how they managed to get all that data on to this same cart, that and CD had redundant data, like the playable world had to be on both disc to work, the different content on the disc are things like one disc had Leons FMVs, where the other had Claire's FMVs.
People complain about the tank controls, but i don't have a problem with them. IIn this version they added a control scheme to where the controls are relative to the camera, as oppose to relate to the character.
I highly recommend this game.
