n0ne's Ganon is a metaphor for Thomas the Tank Engine
I was thinking earlier today about how a lot of my favorite pieces of media came out when I was in high school, A.K.A. my formative years. As such, I was thinking how a lot of my tastes today were influenced by those pieces of media and then I was wondering if people's tastes change much beyond that.
But then I was thinking about it more, and I think they have to - like for example I have a real deep appreciation of history now that I just simply didn't have before. On the other hand though, I think the media I consumed back then really shaped my sense of humor and for the most part my tastes in comedy has stayed more or less the same.
If you guys want a look at what I consider to be "peak comedy", then I'd direct you to "Bobobo-bobo-bobo". It's a manga that features a man with magical nose hairs and an afro that can summon just about anything. It's a wild and strange series and I only scratched the surface. But the point is, I read that in high school/middle school and I thought it was hysterical - and I still find it funny.
I don't really know where I'm going with this, as I'm sure there's a lot of science stating that your formative years are some of your most important (outside of early childhood), but even beyond that I think tastes can change, but maybe that's dependent from person to person.
I think I could talk a bit about what comedy is and what not, but that's like a whole other description I could write - comedy is a really tough thing to do well I find, but it's also so subjective. Like the Patrick Stewart video I did where he's just narrating about Axe - I found that hysterical, but I also figured that it wasn't going to land with a lot of people or that some people would just find it odd. But there would also be some people who liked it as much as I did, so it just goes to show that there isn't a magical catch all when it comes to comedy.
This sucks because I really, really want to continue rambling in this description but I've talked for long enough so I'll just end it here.
