Napple Tale: Arsia in Daydream - THE MOVIE:Dialogues/Cutscenes/Bosses/STORY(2000/Dreamcast)[ENG SUB]
Include:
-Story and some NPCs Dialogues
-All Cutscenes
-Some sidequests
-All Bosses
-One Ending
All put together as a big 5 hours extravanganza!
At first look, Napple Tale has everything to charms: the environment is creatively made, the characters are weird and the humour is refreshingly neat.
But the thing that immediately got my attention was the soundtrack: IT'S A MASTERPIECE!
Something that feel out of a Ghibli movie and as good!
After looking into it, I wasn't surprised that a ''big shot'', none other than Yoko Kanno, universally respected for her works for animes like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, was behind this beautiful music.
But after some hours of gameplay, you realise the reasons why this highly eccentric Japanese game isn't too much discussed these days.
The gameplay is overall ''not decent'' at best. The paffet system is original but really badly handled and in the end lack practicality.
But the worst, and I MEAN IT, flaw of this game can be resumed in two words: DOUBLE JUMPS.
In a 3D platformer, a precise and practical jumping ability is essential to the entertainment value. Here, they screwed it up. The double jump requires a non-genuine timing to be executed rightly and require more concentration than most game using that feature. In the end, it makes the game harder in an annoying way.
To speak the truth, I wouldn't discourage people from playing this game but I wouldn't recommend it either.
If you're looking to have ''fun'', there's better options around.
But if you're looking for something strange, funny and kawaii AF, you'll definitively find something here for you.
