PRESS INFORMATION:

It’s extreme dog-fighting action in Psygnosis’ Nations Fighter Command. Top flight entertainment for PC sim fans.

Atlanta, GA – May 28, 1998 - Ever wanted to don those goggles and shoot your way to glory? Now’s your chance with Nations Fighter Command™ for PC CD-ROM. Nations Fighter Command is an action-packed flight simulation which offers instant action via intuitive controls, historical missions and multi-player gaming. Nations Fighter Command is planned for release in the first quarter of 1999.

Authentic aircraft
You can choose between twelve different World War II fighter aircraft from the US, British and German air forces and you have a World War II database at your disposal for in-depth aircraft knowledge. All aircraft are accurately modelled both in terms of graphical representation and flight characteristics. The aircraft will be affected by the action around them, losing power and/or direction as a result of being shot or losing part of the fuselage, for example.

Fast dog-fighting action
Nations Fighter Command offers realism, excitement and action all in one highly charged product. In any of the game modes you can get straight in using the intuitive interface so it doesn’t take years of practice to go in for a huge dogfight. Controls are kept to a minimum so just skip take-off and it’s down to your own guts and determination, then when you’ve had enough you can just skip home rather than guiding your craft through the landing procedure. You can choose the realism of historic missions - the game comes with 20 pre-set missions for each nation - or opt to create the mission of your dreams see if you live up to the challenge. Multiple players will be able to fly any of the available aircraft in a huge dogfight either on a LAN or over the Internet, in specially created scenarios.

Period drama
The missions are linked through film footage which reflects your chosen nation’s war progress. The game’s realism is heightened by a graphical presentation which includes realistic landscapes recreated from satellite data maps of Europe, highly detailed and realistically texture mapped aircraft and historically accurate reconstruction of 1930’s/1940’s military and civilian buildings and vehicles. Adding to the detailed landscapes is a realistic cloud generation system with effective lighting and weather effects and further action on the ground with people scattering as a shot-down plane approaches and exploding trucks flying through the air. The atmosphere is enhanced by realistic 3D Doppler sound including radio chatter (does this fit here?) with mood music.

Nations Fighter Command is being developed by the Psygnosis South West Studio in Stroud, UK. Minimum system requirements - Pentium 166 MMX with 32 MB RAM and 3D accelerator card. Recommended system requirements - Pentium II 300Mhz with 64 MB RAM and AGP graphics card.
