Do you still enjoy this game because you played it as a child? Then this review is not for you. This review is more for the people who stumble into this game on the Wii Virtual Console than those who want a feel-good review of games from their past.

That said, I seriously think the professionals really wussed out when taking a look at this one. They almost all failed to be critical.

Even if you disagree with a particular review, you can always count on my reviews to explain exactly how I feel without backing down on my critical analysis just because the game is tied to a bigger franchise.

That said, I too find old games I once enjoyed to be less than thrilling today. I described Dragon Quest as a game you play simply because it's there, but I won't hide the fact that there was a time where I'd do something similar myself. Just because my younger and simple mind once found a game acceptable doesn't mean that I still consider it a good game.

Well, hopefully no one massively freaks out. Please do your own review if you disagree. I'm no final authority on this stuff.
