Maximum Alertness is 25. The game will let you put on a +5 Alertness chip when you are already at 25 but it doesn't seem to give you any further points above 25** (thanks to The Great Betrayer for picking up on this mistake)

This is a build based around using Deadeyes independently, roaming the battlefield without needing to stay close to other team members for support.

This allows the Orlock Deadeye to move to the most tactically advantageous positions without worrying about staying near the leader for auras or buffs (other than a quick chemsynth at the start of battle)

Using the Orlock overwatch specialisation to get extra overwatch damage as well as stack Hit Resist to make them very tanky.

The build also stacks ranged precision skills to allow the Deadeye to penetrate hit hit resist on enemy fights so they are not reliant on a saboteur to Null nade every target for them.

The deadeye can still use their signature Double Tap or Trick shot abilities to deal high damage but this build will give them extra self sufficiency and leverage BOTH the Hit Crit and the Hight miss/graze potential of the Autogun weapons to their advantage.

Key Attributes are Alertness (max it) and Accuracy if you are using double tap (max it AFTR you have 12 in all attributes needed to unlock your skills. Then max Ranged Aptitude (prioritise this before Accuracy if you are not using double tap).

Alertness bolsters your hit resistance and Accuracy bolsters your Crit Chance and thus your ranged damage, and also has synergy with Double Tap skill (if you are using Autogun).
Ranged Aptitude increases your precision (ability to penetrate hit resistance)
