Need For Speed: High Stakes (PS1) - Playthrough - Part 16 - Hot Pursuit Mode - Chevrolet Caprice
Playthrough of Need For Speed: High Stakes for the PS1 part 16. Whats unique about this NFS is that you can actually be the Police and arrest the other racers. Basically you have to block then as best as you can to lower their speed to about below 40 KPH ( which is half of the speed you would get caught if you played normally with the police chasing you) while getting in front of then to trigger the arrest. The arrest trigger is sometimes random and may or may not work as intended. Your objective is to arrest 10 cars in a time limit that varies depending on the difficulty selected. Expert difficulty Hot Pursuit is extremely tough and theres very little room for error. Disabling your siren while the opponent is far from you will make the CPU car slowdown abit but you have to activate it to trigger the arrest. You also have options to call for backup, Road Block or a Spike Belt however these options are only available after a certain amount of time has paced on the pursuit and it resets for each car. Since on average you should be arresting with a time of 30 seconds each car, usually only the option of a backup might become available on the last car if you have time to spare as it takes forever for the Spike Belt to become available. The Caprice is unique in that its only available as a cop car but this car was supposed to have a regular version but never made to the final game.
