Jonathan Cross ( Sergeant Cross or Cross) Cross works as a police sergeant for the Street Racing Unit of the Rockport Police Department.

Cross first appears during the prologue of Need for Speed: Most Wanted,
where he pulls the player over for street racing and driving a unsuspectingly non-street legal car.
Due to an emergency call, Cross is forced to release the player, leaving a big scratch on the car caused by his car keys beforehand, but still gets his chance of arresting him after the player loses their car to Razor.
The player is later released from custody due to a lack of evidence.

Cross makes his final appearance after the player defeats Razor and becomes the number one on the Blacklist.
As Mia has let the player go, Cross calls in all units of the Rockport Police Department to catch the player once and for all.
After the player jumps through an incomplete bridge and successfully evades all units, Cross issues them the national Most Wanted status.

Bercerita tentang balapan ilegal di kota Rockport City,
Player mengunakan mobil BMW M3 GTR GT dengan tampilan visual berwarna putih dan biru.
Pada awal cerita balapan berpihak kepada player, sampai pada akhirnya mobil player di sabotase,
Player tidak dapat menyelesaikan balapan dan kehilangan mobilnya karena mobil merupakan taruhan dalam balapan ini.

Untuk mendapatkan kembali mobil BMW M3 GTR GT, player harus mengalahkan Razor yang merupakan Blacklist 1.
Terdapat 15 blacklist, player harus mengalahkan ke semua 14 blacklist tersebut sebelum dapat menantang duel terhadap Razor.
Di akhir cerita Razor sang blacklist 1 dapat dikalahkan, dan mobil BMW M3 GTR GT milik player dapat di rebut kembali,
akan tetapi musuh terakhir player bukanlah Razor, melainkan pihak kepolisian yang di pimpin oleh Cross.
Player harus mampu lolos dari kejaran pihak kepolisian agar tidak ikut di tangkap sperti ke15 blacklist lainnya.
