Nekopara Vol. 1 English Fandub Teaser Trailer
3A little teaser I put together for my first project. I'm a big fan of the Nekopara Series and have been wanting to do this project for a while. For those whom do not know what Nekopara is, it is a series of adult visual novels that was developed by Neko Works and published by Sekai Project. It takes place in a world where humans live alongside catgirls (A.K.A. "Nekos"), and are able to keep them as pets. It comes in both censored and uncensored versions which of course my project will be made using the censored version. There was an all-ages anime OVA adaptation that was released on Steam in December 2017 wherein it became one of the top earners. An anime television series adaptation by Felix Film premiered on the 9th of January this year.
This project is being made using the visual novel series, so the majority of the gameplay consists of the player reading the game's story. The novels do not offer choices to the player, and the player has no influence over the story. The games are fully voiced (except for the protagonist, Kashou) in Japanese only. That is what lead me to wanting to do this project; being interested in acting as well as voice acting. I don't have many friends that are interested in the acting industry, which in a way was good cause that meant I had to look for some voice talent to join in on this project. This series uses a system called "E-mote" that allows the in-game characters to be animated, instead of stationary sprites. Vol. 0 (which came out after Vol. 1 but takes place before Vol. 1) added a new feature where the player can click on characters in-game, to "pet" them. The characters will react in different ways depending on where the player pets them.
This project has no budget (no money being spent on it) and is for no profit (not making any money off it). I started up this project mostly as a little something for others to get some practice voice-acting in (including myself). I also started this up as something to give to others; undoubtedly a lot of people who played these novels also wished they could hear them in English. I myself use to put them on autoplay and fall asleep to them (kind of like being read a bedtime story) but not knowing Japanese myself, it seemed more like it was background noise. Through this project, I'm hoping to catch the storytelling aspect where it feels like someone is reading it to you, but also you feel like you are in the story as well.
