NES Classic - REAL Doom & REAL Quake Test
Huge request. So, I looked into getting both cores running on the Mini NES. Success:)
After installing Doom.Wad files, you must also copy prboom.wad, as a dependency file...in same directory that each concurrent Doom Game is in.
I have tested Doom Games out on many formats, from PSX to DOSBOX to SNES to N64, and this is truly the best way I have found to run them, thus far.
The Two Cores are PrBoom for Doom Games & TyrQuake for Quake Games.
NOTE: Both Cores & the pertinent prboom.wad for the Doom Core, are in my latest Mega Thread Update:) Unfortunately, like DOSBOX, these Games cannot run in compressed format, nor can the prboom.wad. I looked into compressing the prboom.wad, as well as installing it in my Bios Module, and a few other tricks. It remains, one must simply just copy it into the directories with Doom Games, and take the 300 Kb hit, which isn't horrible:)
Not only does Doom run...But, Chex Quest, Doom II, Final Doom, Hacx, Hell to Pay, Hexen, Heretic, Lost Episodes of Doom, Perdition's Gate, Strife, etc...should also run fine:)
Lastly, if you want music, PrBoom supports MP3s. The files must be in the same directory as the WAD file and named accordingly. This works on the Mini NES, just fine.

Note: This will greatly increase the size of the games. You will be at 100 Mb or so for Doom, and over 200 Mb for Doom II.
