INTRODUCTION:
Edgar Allan Poe is probably the greatest writer of mystery and terror ever known. He was found insane wearing somebody else's clothes in Baltimore on 3 October, 1849. He died four days later raving. Nowadays, his death is still a big mystery in line with his stories. You’ll have to discover by yourself what “Nevermore” hides.

REVIEW:

Besides the above text, the only information you get about this game is this:

“You can only carry one object.
Look for objects and actions hidden in the parts of the scenery.
You can pick up some of the objects of the scenery.
The game is easy to solve. In case you get stuck you may find a clue in the Poe´s tales”

“Easy to solve”…?? You are probably going to need to find clues in the tales. Edgar Allan Poe wrote short stories, so they are quite fast to read, and they can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Allan_Poe

The name of the game is from the poem "The Raven" where the raven speaks the word "Nevermore" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Raven). When the game starts you don't know where you are, how you got there, or what to do. So you start from absolutely ground zero in this game.

The game is almost entirely based on Poe’s tales, which causes a mix of a lot of tales. You might find a thing from one tale, and this thing you have to use in a place with something from another tale. Poe’s tales are particularly known for mystery and the macabre, and this has been very well ported and mixed into this game.

You control Edgar Allan Poe, and you will not have played for long before you find out that this is a really weird game - Weird meant in a good way. Odd messages appears at the bottom of the screen when entering rooms, but many of them refers to a tale. You get strange and mostly weak clues from people you can interact with, and you have figure out to solve the puzzles in the correct order, else items will be missing for some of them.

As you play with Poe and you find your own tombstone, a coffin, dead people and other macabre stuff, the games catches a great and spooky atmosphere, and you know that things are not going to turn out well. Black and cyan are the main colors for the screens with just a few other colors used, mostly for candles and fireplaces.

A great horror game with some very fine puzzles! A gory AY in game soundtrack and some fine tuning of the graphics to remove clash from a few places, and this game could be absolutely awesome, though it is also great as it is.

Available in English, Portuguese and Spanish versions.

The game was made by Eduardo José Villalobos Galindo in 2020.
