New BMW X7 M60i 2024 - Visual REVIEW & PRACTICALITY, interior, exterior
The BMW X7 has been around for a few years now as the Bavarian brand's range-topping SUV. But this is the first time we're driving the top dog M60i version, which packs a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 producing a stout 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. With a starting price of $104,095, the X7 M60i represents the über version of BMW's über-SUV.\n\nÜber Power, Über Thirst\nLet's talk about that V8 first. With over 500 hp on tap, the X7 M60i has no trouble getting its considerable 5,617-pound mass up to speed quickly. Put your foot down and this big Bimmer will hit 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds, according to BMW. That's properly quick for something of this size and heft.\n\nThe trade-off for that über power is über thirst, however. With EPA fuel economy ratings of just 15 mpg city, 20 highway, and 17 combined, the X7 M60i chugs premium unleaded at an alarming rate. But if you want to regularly experience that thrilling V8 thrust, that's just the cost of doing business.\n\nÜber Driving Dynamics\nWhile the M60i designation doesn't denote a full-fledged M model from BMW's high-performance skunkworks, this SUV does benefit from a number of M-specific upgrades over the standard X7. These include an M Sport exhaust, M Sport brakes, active roll stabilization, rear-axle steering, and an M Sport differential.\n\nThe result is surprisingly agile handling for such a large vehicle. Turn-in is sharp, body motions are well-controlled, and there's a real sense of sportiness and driving enjoyment here that belies the X7's sheer mass and dimensions. It's definitely more athletic than your average three-row luxury SUV.\n\nÜber Luxury Inside\nOf course, the X7 M60i doesn't sacrifice any of BMW's traditional luxury and refinement in the name of performance. The cabin is an exercise in tasteful opulence, with Nappa leather upholstery, real wood and metal trim, and a plethora of high-end features and technology.\n\nThe iDrive infotainment system now runs the latest software with upgraded graphics and performance. You also get a digital instrument cluster, panoramic moonroof, four-zone climate control, heated and cooled cupholders, and massaging front seats. Pretty much everything you'd expect in a six-figure luxury vehicle.\n\nThere's good space for passengers front and rear, too, with the third row best reserved for kids. Max cargo space is a generous 90.4 cubic feet with the rear rows folded.\n\nÜber-Priced?\nPricing is where the über X7 M60i really flexes its über muscles. With a base MSRP over $104,000 and our test car optioned up to $136,795, this BMW lands squarely in the ultra-luxury stratosphere alongside the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and Range Rover Sport SVR.\n\nSo while the X7 M60i delivers a compelling mix of performance, practicality, and luxury, you really have to ask yourself if you need an über-SUV with über everything. For most buyers, a more affordable trim like the X7 xDrive40i will likely suffice. But for those who want the über-est of the über-haulers, the 2024 BMW X7 M60i won't disappoint.\n\n#BMWX7M60i2024\n#BMWX7M60i\n#BMWX7M60ifirstlook\n#BMWX7M60i2024exterior\n#BMWX7M60i2024interior\n#BMWX7M60iwalkaround\n#BMWX7M60idetails\n#BMWX7M60inew\n\n➡️ Discover all new cars before anyone else!
