In the past weeks I inserted one or two retro build setups on one of my own arcade machines. I have discovered few things that need to make changes on the frontend being used. It turned out that not all eye candy frontend will work smooth on the actual arcade machine. There are few issues like on handling or scrolling on various menus. Doesn't feel right or snappy. Just scrolling on the screen for various platforms became boring at most of the time.
So, I made something simpler and more responsive frontend. When you are having huge collections on a frontend, the simpler the better. You get to find games much faster and with ease. Loading and exiting on games are superbly fast with no hassle.
You can scroll through the menus like a breeze, but it doesn't fall short on the presentations.
Features:
Vertical Scrolling on Platform and Game Selections Menu.
Intro, logo, fanart, text, genre/game characters, story, video, console, arcade, 3dboxes and cartridge representations...
Updated the platform videos... few video themes from Trymado.
Date, time and indexes are available on screen.
Compatible to coinops addons with minimal tweaking.
Minimum requirements to add new platform are video, logo and rom/emulator files.
I will add a default fanart for all platform just in case. You can add fanart on your own liking if ever.
in the video you will see a demo on how it works fully on some platforms, NES HD in particular.
