Trapping & snaring animals could be the ultimate survival skill in DayZ - you by using Rabbit / Hare snares & Fish Traps, you can avoid looting in dangerous towns, and you won't attract unwanted attention by shooting your gun when hunting Deer.
For the fish bottle trap you just need a bottle and a knife, for the larger fish trap you need wire and netting, and for the snare trap you need wire and a short stick.
Place your trap in the appropriate place, add the food bait, go off on an adventure and return to some healthy food to cook and eat.
