Like almost everything in Arma 3, once you know the controls to select the individual soldiers of your AI Squad that don't appear at the bottom of your screen, it all seems so simple.
All you need to do to access the "hidden" squad members is to press F12 to show them, then F11 to hide them again. While these additional squad members are displayed you select them with the matching function key, F1, F2, etc.
