Central Officer Bradford recommended I begin keeping a log book to record the success and failures of XCOM. Personally I think he just wants me to keep my mind at ease after having that alien chip ripped out of my skull. Either way I agree this reports will be useful historical documents for the years to come.
With that said I'm not sure how many years we'll have left as species at this point. Our base is nothing but rubble, our funding is gone, and by my accounts most of my "Elite" team is dead. At least these new recruits are pretty good...
