NEW MW2 ‘Path of the Ronin’ Event, Ashika Island FREE REWARDS + Other Season 2 Roadmap Details!
This morning the official roadmap & blog post for Season 2 has been released which gives us a ton of information about all of the new and maybe not so new content coming to game on February the 15th.
In this video we’re going to go over all the details, So let's get straight into it.
To kick things off across all modes there are going to be 5 new weapons adde & all of these weapons will have 4 new camos each that can be unlocked and then used on any other weapon.
We’ve got the ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle which will be unlocked through the Season 2 Battle Pass & This weapon is described as a powerful and enhanced rifle which is designed to take both 5.56 and subsonic ammunition.
The 2nd weapon which is also unlocked through the battle pass is the KV Broadside Shotgun, This weapon is a part of the Kastov Weapon platform and is described as being the fastest firing semi auto shotgun in its class.
The 3rd weapon is the returning dual Kodachis from Modern Warfare 2019. These are described as a powerful melee weapon that will have a faster and further reaching lunge than the regular combat knife but will have a slower sprint speed. This weapon will also be unlocked through the Season 2 Battle Pass.
The 4th weapon is the Classic Crossbow Marksman Rifle, Similar to MW2019 this is described to have several ammo types & exclusive customization options. In order to unlock the crossbow you’ll need to complete the new seasonal event called Path of the Ronin.
The way this event is going to work is that there will be 7 different challenges to complete based on the seven virtues of Bushido, Whoever that is. Those Virtues are Integrity, Respect, Courage, Honor, Compassion, Sincerity & Loyalty.
Each of these challenges you complete will give its own reward such as weapon charms or gun screens and the crossbow itself will be unlocked after completing all 7 challenges.
Also later in the season, Most likely Season 2 reloaded we’ll see a new marksman rifle called the tempus torrentwhich will have it’s on in game challenge that will need to be completed in order to unlock it.
The main operator for the season is Ronin who i’m sure most of you will remember from Modern Warfare 2019. Ronin will be unlocked through the Season 2 Battle Pass and in this mornings blog post we got a look at both his tier 1 skin as well as his tier 100 skin which both look pretty badass.
On the roadmap a few new skins & bundles were previewed which includes the Sheathed Blade Skin for Operator Roze, The Ruthless Pursuit Skin for Operator Nova as well as the Tracer Pack Ballistic Love Bundle for the Crossbow and Operator Reyes plus the Tracer Pack Shinobi Bundle which i believe to be for Operator Zimo.
It was also announced that there will be a new Playstation Exclusive Combat Pack for Operator Oni, which will be releasing on the 22nd of February. They previewed this skin for oni which is called pyroclast and also teased some of the bundle items which includes the Oni Carver SMG Blueprint, The Oni Slasher Assault Rifle Blueprint as well as a weapon charm, calling card, sticker & Emblem.
Moving on, at the start of Season 2 as expected the Prestige Cap will be raised meaning that we’ll be able to rank up to level 500 or Prestige 10 and there will be different sets of prestige challenges to complete as we rank up as well a new free blueprint to unlock from reaching max level 500.
With this also finally comes the addition of the Combat Record & Leaderboards to Warzone which will only display stats from Season 2 onwards, Anything you’ve done up till season 2 won’t be included.
Speaking of Warzone obviously we’re seeing the return of the resurgence game mode as well as the addition of Ashika Island.
It’s been confirmed for Resurgence in this mornings blog post that at the start of Season 2 we’ll have access to solos, duos, Trios & quads and the mode is going to work basically the same as it did in Warzone 1.
