Here is the last area that was included in the update for New Pokémon Snap, it is Barren Badlands, which is located on Voluca Island. This area is not just a desert, there is a toxic swamp and an area where geysers spout out water, and there are some Pokémon that live in the rough desert area.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Barren Badlands is on Voluca Island, and it is the last area added in the update. The following Pokémon you can find there are Tepig, Diglett, Mandibuzz, Hippowdon, Crustle, Minior, Silicobra, Swalot, Koffing, Shinx, Torchic, Lycanroc, and Onix. When you throw an Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom, the rock will roll down and covet the geyser, and to reveal the Diglett, you have to scan to have them come out. The Lycanroc in this course in its is Midnight Form, despite being in the daytime, and in later levels, you can have Lycanroc eat the Fluffruit for a good photo. The Koffing and Swalot are found in the toxic swamp area.
When you unlock Level 2, this will also unlock Barren Badlands at night. The Pokémon that appear in Level 2 are Rockruff, Kangaskhan, Scolipede, and Salazzle. You can see Scolipede chasing the Silicobra at the start of the course, and to lure Salazzle out, you have the Melody after throwing a Fluffruit at the Mandibuzz, and you can play the Melody to get Salazzle to dance, and it will strike a pose, which is for the LenTalk Quest "An Alluring Pose", which can be done in Level 3. You can get a photo of the two Crustle fighting for a 3 Star photo, and starting from Level 2, you can take a secret path, what you have to do is light up the Crystabloom to move the large boulder, that will unlock the secret path where you ride a geyser, and it will take you to the cliffside area, you can throw a Fluffruit at Scolipede, and you can find Silicobra at the end of the course, throw a Fluffruit to get Silicobra to spit sand for a 4 Star photo.
For LenTalk Quests at Level 2, first is Gigantic Koffing, what you have to do is lure the Koffing nearest to the Crystabloom with Fluffruit, then light up the Crystabloom and take a photo of the giant Koffing to complete the quest.
The next one is A Brave Leap, you have to take the secret path for this one, there is a Tepig attempting to jump, use the scan to get Tepig to jump down to a lower path, and later on, you can find Tepig near a gap between the cliffs, throw an Illumia Orb, and Tepig will leap over to the other side, at this point, you can find two Scolipede fighting for a 3 Star photo.
Then for Level 3, and you can get some new poses for some Pokémon, and there is one new Pokémon in the area, and it is not easy to see, it is Zeraora, a Mythical Pokémon. It is sleeping on a cliff at the start of the course, where the first Kangaskhan is, throw a Fluffruit to wake up Zeraora, and it will start running towards the end of the stage, and a Salazzle will then give chase when Zeraora passes it. At the end of the course is where Zeraora is, you can give it Fluffruit and interact with it for some good photos. As for Salazzle, you can lure it to the area with a sweet scent, and Salazzle will start kicking up sand to itself for a 3 Star photo.
Going over LenTalk Quests that appear in Level 3, first one is Open Wide!, you will notice a Salazzle standing on top of a poison gas volcano, throw a Fluffruit at it, and a Koffing will then fall down and into Swalot's mouth, then Swalot will spit out Koffing. Both Pokémon need to be in the photo, and the focus shot must be on Swalot, and it must be done before it spits Koffing out.
The other quest is Let's Play!, that is the name of the quest, and I know most YouTubers call their playthroughs "Let's Plays", but anyway, for this quest, what you have to do is throw Fluffruit at the Diglett closest to the rock, and Rockruff will follow it, then throw a Fluffruit at Rockruff, and the two Diglett will appear and starting playing with the Fluffruit, make sure both Diglett are in the photo to complete the quest.
There is another special interaction, throw a Fluffruit at the Koffing, and it will be lured to Tepig, throw a Fluffruit to get Koffing to use Smokescreen, then Kangaskhan will put Tepig in its pouch, which will count as a 4 Star photo.
