After hearing word about the Death Knight being sighted in the Sealed Forest, Caspar reports to Byleth and Mercedes about the Imperial Troops led by the Death Knight has been sighted. This leads Mercedes to believe that her brother and the Death Knight are the same person, so they enter the forest and encounter the Death Knight and the Imperial Troops.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Here is another paralogue, this one is The Face Beneath, you have the Death Knight and the Imperial Army to fight, and the Death Knight is an optional opponent, so you don't have to fight him to complete this paralogue, you do have to defeat every other enemy on this map, but you do get the best reward if you have Caspar defeat the Death Knight.
Mercedes and Caspar will be placed near the Death Knight at the northern part of the map, and the Death Knight does not move unless you provoke him. The Death Knight has the Scythe of Sariel and an Accuracy Ring, and in order to have Caspar defeat him, if you have him promoted to Warrior and equipped with a Killer Axe, as the Warrior class has Axe Crit +10 built into the class, you can use Smash to hopefully get a critical hit on the Death Knight, or if you have him as a War Master, the Killer Knuckles with Bombard can work as well if you can get a critical hit, or you can keep Caspar and Mercedes away from the range of the nearby Demonic Beast, and have your other units advance to the northern side of the map, and have them weaken the Death Knight a bit, and then have Caspar deal the finishing blow, the Death Knight does drop a Dark Seal when defeated.
There is a chest on the southern side of the map, which does contain an Umbral Steel, and for other items, you can steal an Accuracy Ring and Elixir from the Death Knight.
As for the Imperial Troops, most of them are in different classes, like Dark Knight, Sniper, Fortress Knight, and many others, and there are some Demonic Beasts on the map to deal with as well.
On Turn 10, reinforcements will appear, those contain a Dark Knight, Hero, and Sniper, two of each, or three on Maddening. When you have defeated every Imperial Troops, that is the paralogue completed, the Death Knight is optional, but to get the best reward, you need to have Caspar deal the finishing blow on him.
You get two Battalions for completing this paralogue, the first one is Bergliez War Group, which is a Battalion for Caspar, it isn't easy to equip to him as it requires a B Rank in Authority to equip, and Caspar has a weakness in Authority, so it isn't easy. It does provide boosts in Strength, Hit, Protection, and Charm, it has good Endurance, and the Gambit is Onslaught, so this can be a good Battalion to equip to Caspar if you can get his Authority to B Rank.
The other Battalion is Church Soldiers, which is a good one for Mercedes, as it has Resonant White Magic for the Gambit, so it is a support Gambit that heals allies in range. It gives boosts to Magic, Hit, Resilience, and Charm, and it requires C Rank in Authority to equip. While it is a decent Battalion, Mercedes does get Fortify, which heals allies in range and it has a wide effect.
You get a Hero's Relic for completing this paralogue, it is Rafail Gem, it is tied to the Crest of Lamine, and when equipped, it will protect the wielder from critical hits, and as Mercedes has the Crest of Lamine, when it is equipped to her, she gains Pavise and Aegis, and it also protects the wielder from bonus damage.
If you have Caspar defeat the Death Knight, you will receive the Scythe of Sariel, this is a very powerful weapon that has a high crit rate, and it requires A Rank in Lance to use it, so this can be good for units like Seteth or Ferdinand, who you will most likely have at A Rank in Lance. This does make the Death Knight a bit easier, and you do fight the Death Knight later in the story. If you didn't defeat the Death Knight and get the Scythe of Sariel in this paralogue, if you equip a unit with the Rafail Gem, that will prevent any critical hits from the Death Knight.
