Since Nevada now allows skill-based slot games, a lot of the talk at this year's #G2E2015 was about what kind of games might start to show up and when. It probably won't be until late 2016 or sometime in 2017. The type of games is almost totally up in the air, because very few skill-based games were shown.

Scientific Games (www.scientificgames.com - not sure if this will be WMS or Bally) did show off one skill-base game based on the old classic Space Invaders. Since one theory behind skill-based games is that it might attract a younger player, it will be interesting to see how they react to a game that probably came out before they were born.

But, this game is just a toe in the water. One interesting thing about this skill bonus is that you can do really bad at the game and pay for it. In other words, the range of possible wins is very wide between a bad player and a good player. This range is unlike some earlier skill games that had a tighter range. So, Space Invaders is really emphasizing the skill component.
