New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 100% #27: What Frying Pan?
8-1, 8-2, 8-3 and Most of 8-Fortress. World 8 takes the difficulty slider and cranks it up in a hurry. So many dangerous objects and lava to avoid that it's not even funny. But at the least, I make the best of what's here.
For 8-1, it mimics 8-1 of the DS version quite a bit, but with more danger. Molten rocks from nearby volcanoes will rain down on the stage, even destroying bricks and blocks. The huge rocks will crush everything until it hits the ground. There are magma pillars that shoot up from the lava, tall enough to prevent normal jumps from ascending them. And for a finisher, a pyroclastic flow will slowly advance from the left. This fog will move throughout the entire level. If you so much as touch those fumes you're dead (Basically, those fumes are a gaseous version of molten lava). There is an abnormal number of Coin Blocks in this stage, but most of them will be destroyed...
8-2 Features trekking in an underground molten cave with rotating disks of ground. These are much faster than the ones you have seen in other levels, and they are accompanied by small and large spiked orbs. There are even Giant Goombas in this stage. You will want to be careful because these semi-treadmills can put some trapperrific surprises on you.
8-3 Is a different underground cave, but it has molten lava flowing in a wavy pattern. The stage is designed to keep you moving in between it. There are some platforms suspended by a chain that pull down depending on where you step on it, but if you jump just right, you can keep it from titling right into the lava. What's interesting is that the stage layout is fairly forgiving and even allows timed jumps to keep you quite safe, which you'll see here. Yeah... touch the wavy lava and your will loose a life right there.
8-Fortress is going to give your trouble with the classic Fire Bars. Constantly rotating counter-clockwise, you pretty much know what they do by just looking at them. The are lost of suspended rocks shifting inside the castle and it leaves a lot of opportunities to get crushed. Kamek is guarding this Tower, but what will fighting him be like...?
Note: Mario removes his hat when you have 99 lives. Why do people keep asking how to do this?
