Until recently I haven't spent much time on Line War, and to be frank it was both mine and this indie RTS game’s fault. Because as you might know Line War launched with no AI bots or Singleplayer, but today in 2025 it is a very different story after many content updates.
Not only can you play Singleplayer now, with AI bots, and in teams for matches of up to 8 players, but you have aircraft carriers and soon you will be able to set up railroads with trains for both transport and using a huge, earth shattering artillery gun.
So in this sponsored video I will guide you through the basic gameplay and these latest content additions. But I should also tell you that developers are working hard on introducing interactive tutorials which will feel like Mini Campaigns.
What makes Line War feel very different to most RTS games is its controls which don't allow for micromanagement of individual units but drawing orders for entire armies. Armchair generals can really live up to their name in this game without having high actions per minute capabilities.
While the inspiration for this game partially came from Command and Conquer it might also remind you of a board game called Axis & Allies. In the end Line War’s gameplay is a mix of 4X, wargame, and real-time strategy.
I dare even say it is every armchair general's vet dream due to this system of map wide economy and indirect unit control which will soon be upgraded by the developers.
So if these updates and my gameplay in this video makes you want to try out Line War, do note that it will be 50% off during the Wargames Fest on Steam from the 28th of April to the 5th of May.
Now let's go over the gameplay and its features as we watch a few of my own matches against the AI as I learn from each one eventually beating the AI and using the new artillery train. My very first match after watching all the tutorial and tips videos prepared by the developers was an example of how not to play.
