So yea, I beat the game, but I did so off stream. The strat for Lavos was very tedious:

Basically, I wouldn't survive unless I kept a barrier up at all times. But the other issue on deck was that there was no point in me trying to focus any other bits-I has to just kill left with two Uzzi Punches, then when defenses went down just go as ham as possible and pray RNG didn't royally screw me. Three fails on stream (couldn't establish strat), then about five more off before the strat finally beat out RNG rolls of mid-core damage. It was a victory hard earned.

I will never use Magus again.
Matter of fact? I may kill him on principle.
