Hey guys, Alanah from Button Bash here, and today we’re going to be talking all about the PlayStation Experience!

At Sony’s PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas, Naughty Dog revealed the first ever gameplay footage for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. It definitely features the kind of gameplay and environments the series is already known for, such as climbing and exploring, but it does show off some new gear. I’ll stop right there, ‘cause you guys have to see this for yourself – here’s our first look at Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Sony announced via the PlayStation blog that the PS4 is going to be getting limited edition faceplates that will allow you to personalise your console, as part of a project called ‘Project SkyLight’. There are only two faceplates currently available for pre-order, which are:

The Order 1886 Faceplate, which features a shot of the knights from the highly anticipated third-person action title

And

A Little Big Planet 3 faceplate, featuring Sackboy and his new burlap gang.

The two are available for $24.99 each, and are apparently being created in very small quantities. As part of Project Skylight, though, Sony are planning to have more faceplates available in the future. They also said:

“We are also planning a few other fun enhancements to this personalization initiative and will have more to share soon.”

Yakuza 5, the open-world action-adventure, is officially getting a Western release via PSN in 2015. Sega announced that it will be coming to the PlayStation 3 specifically, with no news on whether it will eventually be released on the PlayStation 4. Sony has described the game, saying:

“The legendary action series steeped in honor and violence continues with Yakuza 5, coming to PS3. With the Tojo clan teetering on an all-out war, four men and one girl will be pulled into the chaos. Experience the continuing story of the criminal underworld that makes all of Japan tremble in fear.”

Apparently this comes as part of Sony’s hashtag ‘building the list’ campaign, which basically had fans request games they’d like to see on Playstation platforms. It was said that Yakuza 5 was one of the most requested games of the campaign.

A new God of War game is being developed at Sony Santa Monica, according to Cory Barlog, the studio’s creative director. It seems like Barlog wasn’t actually supposed to announce this just yet, but he did, in response to a fan’s question during the God of War panel. Shortly after, the official Sony Santa Monica Twitter account said:

“Don't tell anyone what @corybarlog just said #PlayStationExperience #GodofWar”

Nice work, Barlog. He also said that the game definitely isn’t going to be a prequel, but it may be a reboot. It’s apparently in very early development but he hopes to share more in the next couple of years.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Bloodborne, revealed a ton of new information about the game on a panel during the PlayStation Experience. Firstly, the game is going to have over 10 unique maps, each with their own ‘situation’, whatever that entails. The Chalice, for example, is a multi-layered, procedurally generated map that spans the entire underground of the city.

Each area of the underground has something called a ‘holy chalice’, which, if found, allows you to access another section. Apparently the dungeons are set to be very difficult, but will remain fixed once you’ve entered them, so they don’t re-generate each time. The entire Chalice Dungeon is also fully optional.

Apparently character customisation will be similar to Dark Souls 2, with everything “to be expected from an RPG.” There is PvP, and there may be features where you can become a boss and fight another player, and the concept of ‘Hollowing’ in Dark Souls 2 may also exist in BloodBorne in some fashion.

I’m Alanah, and thanks for watching Button Bash.
