Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed é o quinto jogo da franquia, lançado em 2000 para Playstation, Windows PC e Game Boy Advanced. É o primeiro jogo da franquia a tentar ser mais um simulador do que um jogo arcade. Também é o primeiro a se dedicar exclusivamente a uma única marca de carros: Porsche, que dá nome ao jogo. Apesar de possuir três versões em plataformas diferentes, os jogos em si são notoriamente diferentes. Enquanto na versão e PC o jogo possui corridas mais do tipo Sprint, na versão de Playstation as corridas são no formato de circuitos.

Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed is the fifth game in the franchise, released in 2000 for Playstation, Windows PC and Game Boy Advanced. It is the first game in the franchise to try to be more of a simulator than an arcade game. It is also the first to dedicate itself exclusively to a single car brand: Porsche, which gives the game its name. Despite having three versions on different platforms, the games themselves are notoriously different. While in the PC version the game has more Sprint-type races, in the Playstation version the races are in circuit format.
