NHL news: New York Rangers call for firing of George Parros in light of the Tom Wilson incident
53The New York Rangers issued a strong statement calling for the firing of NHL Head of Player Safety George Parros in light of the Tom Wilson incident last night.
The NHL fined Wilson $5,000 Tuesday morning for roughing Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich during the second period of Monday's game. The fine is the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement. Wilson was not disciplined for throwing Artemi Panarin to the ice and punching him moments later as a brawl between the two teams continued. Panarin will be out for the season.
