Nick Damico is interviewed by Edwin Braun, CEO, cebas Visual Technology, Inc. Congrats to Nick Junior newborn just arrived.
Nick has done some of the best Marvel movie FX including Ironman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Thor, Super 8 ..from fluids to explosion and large scale destruction - Nick has done it all. His rendezvous with thinkingParticles goes way back with Uncharted Territory in the groundbreaking movie, '2012', where Nick worked alongside Goran Pavles, Joe Scarr, Sam Khorshid -- the 2012 pack, and Edwin (FX software dev).

How did Nick get his foot into the door (same time as Google first started...so he could at least use the 'Search' tool for jobs then..) so listen to his story, and Edwin was also interested about how Nick recorded his FX reels into a VHS - a technical feat in those days - to show with his resume!
Nick gave some interesting insights about 3dsMax / Maya pipeline culture and the former's state of camaraderie and generalists feeling, as well as work with CG pipelines. How he balanced his work - if you're aiming for a big studio lifestyle - and has family. Nick talks about his favourite FX project, his favourite thinkingParticles operators, jointing and spawning tools, and more.
