Nicole Mirra, chair of the "Envisioning 21st Century Education" track of DML2013, talks about how her work and research on civic engagement fits into the theme of the 2013 Digital Media and Learning Conference.

(3:23) "A lot of times, we try to create supportive spaces for youth. But, especially as technology continues to change, young people are finding new ways to appropriate and innovate in ways that teach *us*, so that I can become a better educator."

The conference will be held March 14-16, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois. The conference is supported by the MacArthur Foundation and organized by the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub located at the University of California's systemwide Humanities Research Institute at UC Irvine.
