Ellen Middaugh, co-chair of the "Envisioning 21st Century Education" track of DML2013, talks about the important roles educators can play in youth civic engagement practices.
(00:48) "I think we're seeing, increasingly, that youth need support for thinking about how to use media strategically for their civic engagement. And educators can play an important role in supporting youth and thinking about the effectiveness of their practices."
The 2013 DML conference will be held March 14-16, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois. The conference is supported by the MacArthur Foundation and organized by the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub located at the University of California's systemwide Humanities Research Institute at UC Irvine.
