Getting hit after having jumped has the potential to give you a lot of height. The more uncommon air damage taking animation (the one where Nier does not somersault) allows you to continue with a second jump just like that - a trick that is doable in the first half of the game as well. However, if at the apex you start an air attack (preferably 2-handed sword's triangle for height or spear's triangle for the boost) and switch weapons, you can do one more jump still, making it an even more powerful trick...

One last augmentation is that if you launch yourself up in the air using a bomb, double jump and then cancel an air attack, you can then follow up with a whole new double jump, amounting to a huge quadruple jump. Too bad there isn't much use for a quadruple jump at areas where there are bombs.

As a bonus, the vid shows the 2nd tier skip... again. Also, I tried to escape the wedding using this trick but failed. The last clips' audio is out of sync again. It seems that Virtualdub doesn't like combining clips like this.
