11In NieR Replicant, players take on the role of Nier, a young man wielding a powerful one-handed sword and accompanying his sickly sister Yonah in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous Shades. NieR Replicant blends action RPG elements with unique twists. Combat features light and heavy attacks, dodges, and the ability to equip a variety of weapons besides the sword, including spears and powerful ranged options. Players can also unleash devastating magic spells and command a companion character in battle, either a loyal boar named Weiss or a shadowy creature named Kaine. Exploration takes place across a variety of environments, from desolate plains to bustling towns, and the game incorporates platforming and light puzzle-solving elements as Nier searches for a cure for Yonah's illness. NieR Replicant also features multiple endings that encourage players to revisit the story and uncover its deeper secrets.
This was a unique gem I had in my backlog and was just waiting to find the right time to dig into it, and it did not disappoint, it started off really slow but definitely catches up fast, the combat might a feel a bit repetitive and there's really not much of any upgrades but the story was really intriguing and the shift from 2d to 3d and then to book like (if that's what it's called) was something I really really loved, and I really hope other games try this approach as well, it just gives you the best of both worlds . ALSO SPOILER ALERT..........................................................FINAL WARNING...........the deaths in this game are heartbreaking even if it's only a side character or a boss or.....I won't say much, oh and weisey is definitely my favourite character you just can't get enough of that gu-- umm book?

As soon as I was finished with this game I knew I had to jump right back in with NieR Automata, currently on my first playthrough and just loving every minute of it, stay tuned for the video.
