Hey everybody, Guilty here with NGB, Chapter 8, on Normal difficulty. It’s a code orange! The Vigoor Army is on high-alert, locking down Tairon and harassing Ryu everywhere he goes, necessitating a slight detour in his quest for revenge.

In Chapter 8, I fought 49 Vigoorian Army soldiers and 6 Black Spider ninja. Of the 6 Black Spider ninja, 4 spawned with 1000 points, one spawned at 800, and another spawned with 1200. The average health for the Army is 640 points. Of all the soldiers, 24 (or 49%) spawned at 640. 13 (or 27%) spawned with 760 points. 2 spawned at 820; 3 spawned with 900; 1 spawned with 980; and 6 (approximately 12%) spawned with 520. The enemies with 760 health points saw an increase of roughly 18% to the “determined” average health; conversely, the half-dozen enemies with 520 health points are reduced 18%. The couple enemies with 820 health points had their health increased 28%; the few with 900 points were increased 40%; and the one enemy with 980 health points was buffed 53%. The ratio of Army soldiers armed with M203s opposite the rocket launcher was quite lopsided: 38 to 9, respectively. (If you’re mathing at home, you’ll notice 2 soldiers are missing from that count—they are the pair manning the turrets outside the fort.) Of the 38 machine gunners, 23 had 640 points of health, 7 had 760, 2 had 820, and 6 had 520. And of the 9 with the anti-armor, one had 640 points, 5 had 760, 2 had 900, and 1 had 980. The lesson here, for those not already aware, is the “rocket guys” are a bit chonkier than the gunners—but with the level 2 Warhammer… none of that really mattered. As an aside, there are four personnel carriers in this chapter that each have an active turret on top. Each turret is 450 points. Considering one incendiary shuriken does 500 points of damage—on top of the 80 to 100 points the impact itself inflicts—there’s really no other way to quickly destroy these oppressive turrets than throwing an IS at them.

The end-chapter “boss fight” with the helicopter doesn’t go exactly as planned. I run out of arrows just before with the twin turret guys, so I’m unable to neutralize the chopper quickly and eat a number of bullets as I attempt to do so.

In this chapter, I max out the Warhammer—hence the showcase video I put out recently—but I also max’d out the Lunar. I’m collecting that footage as we speak and will put that showcase out next.

No big reveals in this episode, I don’t think—well, except for something kind of odd tucked in the Japanese dub during the scene when the Army is mobilizing—but I’ll have a few fun things to show you in chapter 9 when the time comes.
