Ninja Gaiden III (Act II)
1In this Act Ryu runs into an old nemesis and suspects this is the individual responsible for the murder of Irene. He also is told that this "Castle Rock Fortress is impenetrable and no one has made it out of there alive. Of course Ryu ignores this warning and goes on to find out what happened to Irene.
This level is very interesting for two main reasons. One is that you sink into the sand in the first block and will sink to you're death if you're not careful, while having to ward off a barrage of enemies. The second is that in the next block you have to race against rising lava in one part which really adds to the fast-paced adreneline rush that Ninja Gaiden is known for. This is the first time these two features have been introduced. You'll also notice another feature in this one. Ryu can hang from platforms, giving him a nessesary advantage in this game.
The boss is also quite good. While it seems you can get in a lot of hits, he is also quite quick, so if you're not careful he can easily ram right into you or catch you with one of his attacks, which come from above. So you constantly have to be on the move.
