Fun fact 1: Around the same time, there was an Arcade game also known as Ninja Gaiden, but is a completely different from the NES game. While this was a 2D Platform game, the Arcade game was a Beat em up game. For those wondering what the Arcade game was like:

Fun fact 2: Dying to any of the 3 bosses in level 6 kicks you back to the very beginning of the level. The game was supposed to kick you back in the last room but this was a glitch that was left in by the game designers to extend play time.
Fun fact 3: The cutscenes are referred to as Tecmo Theater as this was 1 of the 1st games to feature cinematic cutscenes.
