Ninja Hayate (Saturn) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Ecseco's 1997 interactive movie for the Sega Saturn, Ninja Hayate.
The game was named Revenge of the Ninja when it was released in America for the Sega CD.
Just like Thunder Storm/Cobra Command, Road Avenger, and Time Gal, for as reasonably well as the Sega CD handled this 1984 Taito arcade FMV classic, it goes without saying that the 32-bit consoles' Laserdisc conversions flatten it all regards. The video quality is thoroughly excellent, the controls are super responsive, and the game is in English despite being a Japan-exclusive release.
The picture quality is slightly softer on the Saturn than it is on the Playstation version, but that's a minor nitpick. It looks great and sounds great - short of emulating the Laserdisc game, you won't find a more faithful way to experience it.
Ninja Hayate was sold together with a conversion of Time Gal in a double pack, making it a pretty compelling option back in 1996!
