Ninja-kun (MSX version)

“Ninja-kun has nothing to do with the Ninja JaJaMaru-kun series or his brother Ninja-kun series except that they share the same name. It was developed by Micro Cabin in 1983 and published the same year by Toshiba. It's a simple fixed-screen action game whose goal is to collect all 10 items. The character’s movement is linear. That is, we start at the bottom left of the screen (floor 1) and will end at the top left (floor 10). During that time we must collect 10 items. Each floor will have an item. It will only be allowed to move horizontally on each floor and we can move to the next floor automatically by traversing the entire floor from one end to the other. To complicate the task a bit more, there are the “Yakunin” (government officials) who will be watching the entire territory. The “Yakunin” move vertically so when ninja-kun moves horizontally he must take into account the possible collision location with a government official. As we complete a level, government officials will move faster and faster (it is important to note the sound that the yakunin make because it is a way to predict their arrival, especially in more advanced levels where they become momentarily invisible).”
