Nintenber 2024 - Super Mario 64 #1 - Expanding my brain with 3D Mario
Greetings everyone!
Hope you are having a fantastic day!
I've been looking forward to this for a while now. I have a lot of fond memories of Mario 64, being the first fully 3D game I really played and I just remember being blown away by it.
I first tried it at a kiosk in Toys R Us, and spend about 5 or so minutes running around bumping into walls in the Castle Garden. I had no idea what was going on or how to control Mario.
Nearly 30 years later and here we are again, trying to haphazardly control Mario with the rather unwieldy N64 Controller... Or at least a cheap knock off, that's my own fault really, go for licensed versions folks.
Initially, I was going to do a run where we take each course at a time, but, seeing as we need the caps to complete certain tasks, let's do a slightly... Wonky routing for this game.
Also, did you know that a study was done to and suggests that playing Mario 64 improves hippocamal grey memory in older adults?!
Seriously, have a link to the study!
