Hey guys, David here from nintendo 3ds blog dot com and it's been a very busy day of 3DS news, mostly because GAME has got their hands on a retail unit of the Nintendo 3DS and they've posted pictures of them unboxing it.
One photo that caught people's attention showed off six different cards for use with augmented reality games.
Augmented reality games are the games like Target Shooting that are designed in a way that makes it look like the game is merged with the real world.
Unfortunately, these cards will not be used for augmented reality games that feature Nintendo characters.
One of the "games" bundled with the operating system is known as Star Viewer.
As far as we're aware, this alone will make use of these five other augmented reality cards.
And all this applications involves is placing one of these cards down, and taking 3D pictures of a Nintendo character in the real world.
So, for example, you could place the Mario card on a table, and virtual statue of Mario would appear, and you'd be able to take a photo as if he's standing on the table.
Definitely not as exciting as a full-on game.
Other than that we've got the first high resolution screenshots of the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
The eShop itself won't be arriving until late May via a worldwide system update, but it seems like it'll be worth the wait.
And just to clarify, Pilotwings Resort will not be a downloadable title, even though it appears to be apart of the 3DS eShop.
This is a special section of the eShop where you're able to look at videos in 3D and find more information about games that are available at retail.
But that's it for now. Don't forget to leave your thoughts in the comment section below, click the "Like" button too, that always helps and I'll talk to you later.
