Welcome to my Animal Crossing channel. Today's Animal Crossing video is all about the recent Nintendo announcement, and how this affects Animal Crossing as a whole.
Earlier today Nintendo confirmed when they will be shutting down and discontinuing their Online Services. This affects every game across a variety of 3DS and Wii-U platforms, including Animal Crossing.
Once the Nintendo Online Services is shut down and discontinued, players will no-longer be able to visit friends, tour towns, visit Dream addresses or play mini-games on Tortimers Island in Animal Crossing New Leaf. Other Animal Crossing games and services are also affected.
Fortunately local multiplayer will continue to be available as it doesn't require Nintendo's online servers.
Of course this doesn't affect Animal Crossing New Horizons, but a vast library of retro Animal Crossing services online will be lost next year.
