This show mixes western cowboys, Railroad construction, and the rising tensions between people after the end of the Civil War. This show mixes these wonderfully into an action based Drama, which AMC seems to be creating shows based on this genre wonderfully.
Being as it’s a Period piece AMC would have to get actors that do their job good enough to pull off good acting along with giving a believable accent, and they do a wonderful job at this. Along with the good acting, you must have a good setting to believe you are actually back in that era, and just as with the acting they do a great job building it up. They even use what seem to be the actual trains they used ages ago.
Story is about Cullen Bohannonan an ex Confederate, looking for the people who murdered his family back during the Civil War. The final person he needs to find ends up being at the same railroad construction company the setting takes place at. I enjoyed watching this series on AMC and I recommend this to anyone looking for a great story driven period piece with bouts of action thrown in.
