Reading out my written review for Skyrim Collectors Strategy Guide

I don’t usually buy strategy guides for games due to the fact Gamefaqs has everything I would ever need from a guide. I am sure many of you guys feel the same way, but this guide is worth picking up due to the fact it explores so much into the game. They learned their lesson with the Fallout 3 strategy guide and included a full index, so searching the whopping 655 pages become easier. Includes an intro telling you about everything non-spoilery about Skyrim that helps new players more than the manual could.

They cover the main mission, all side quests (Guild or otherwise), and every radiant quest. Along with that it includes over 200 pages with mini-maps and descriptions of each individual area in the entire game. A full bestiary of ever non-hostile, beast, or boss is included with its HP/MP, along with weakness and strengths.

I also love the fact they add entire lists of items that you can get in the game, ranging from the named items to the lowly Iron Dagger. At the main page of each tier of questing they include a checkbox as well in case you wanted to keep track yourself over the games quest tracking. Extras are packed in with a dragon tong translation, achievement/trophy tracking, and a giant map the enormousness of the game.

This version of the guide has a hard cover image that goes from the front page continuing to the back showing off Skyrims landscape. Unlike the Fallout 3 guide, they have glossy pages that ink doesn’t rub off on you when you turn the pages. You are given two string bookmarks that are attached to the book itself that allow you easy access to pages you frequently visit.

I haven’t read every single word in the guide, but the editing looks well done and easy to read. I say buy this guide right away if you have any interest in playing this game. It’s worth every penny.
