Nitro Ball (Arcade) - 1 Credit Challenge
2I'm doing another 1 Credit Challenge video, because I felt like it and this time I'll be playing Nitro Ball for the Arcade. This game was developed and published by Data East, it was only released in the Arcade in 1992. Nitro Ball was released for the Nintendo Switch in August 2018, but in Europe was relesed on January 2019 as part of Johnny Turbo's Arcade that you can buy via Nintendo eShop. Nitro Ball is a run and gun shooter that involves two heavily armed guys blasting their way through hordes of mooks, collecting fabulous prizes along the way. This game is a mix of Smash TV and Pinball, but it's a little less violent than Smash TV. There are 5 stages in total, like: Strange Football, Combat Field, Ghost Town, Aliens World and Space Station. In each level has an assortment of ramps, holes, targets that spell out words, bumpers, and spinners, the sorts of things you'd encounter on a pinball table. Most of these can be shot and destroyed, which will release point items, from gems all the way up to miniature mansions, and the occasional powerup. There are also some various weapons, like: Missile, Ring Laser, Flame Thrower and so on. At the end of each stage, there's a boss fight and after you defeat a boss, your overall score is tallied up, and should you reach a certain target, you'll earn an extra life. Much like a real pinball game, you'll also have a very small chance to earn another 1-UP, should a random number that's chosen match up with the last two digits of your score. It's not very likely, but it's a nice touch. Overall, Nitro Ball is a tough, but fun game by Data East and I really enjoyed it. If you like some of those run and gun type of games?
