Well shit.
In case anyone wants to point it out, I did notice after recording the video that the part of the bamboo on the ground level could've been used instead of flying up there with the Jet.
You can even switch tools while you're in this state and use them. The Extending Arm will disable every button except pause and freeze you in midair, so avoid using that.
If you drill into a block you can pickup while holding the dash button, you'll keep the block held the entire time until you release the dash button.
The Drill is actually active during the entire ascent, so it will break any bricks you pass by and activate any switches.
If you rise into an item box from below, it'll be hit as if you jumped into it.
If you pass through wind, you will move horizontally endlessly. Updrafts don't seem to increase your vertical velocity however.
